Our History

Apostolic Tabernacle stemmed from a vision and burden of Pastor Aaron Henson of Bethel Pentecostal Church in Evansville, IN. After starting Bible Studies they begin to hold meetings in various community centers in 2018.  In January of 2020 the current location was attained and regular church services begin. We look forward to continued growth and expansion of Apostolic Tabernacle in the heart of Owensboro as we reach our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! 

We are commisioned to reach our community by  preaching and teaching the only saving message of Salvation according to Acts 2:38 which is Repentance, Baptism in the Name of Jesus, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, and living a Godly and Holy lifestyle while looking for the return of Jesus for the Church.  

As a Spirit-filled, Bible-based church, we seek to worship God in Spirit and truth according to worship practices found in the  word of God, the Holy Bible.

1. We raise our hands because 1 Timothy 2:8 says “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands.”
2. We clap our hands because Psalm 47:1 says “O clap your hands, all ye people.”
3. We sing and play music because Ephesians 5:19 says to worship “in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,” and Psalm 150 says to praise God with musical instruments.
4. We worship with a joyful noise because Psalm 66:1 says “Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands.”
5. We pray aloud because the early church “lifted up their voice to God with one accord” in prayer (Acts 4:24).
6. We dance in the Spirit because Psalm 149:3 says “Let them praise his name in the dance.”
7. We annoint with oil and pray over the sick because the Bible says "Is there any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord", James 5:14
8. We include testimonials, teaching, preaching, and allow for the operation of spiritual gifts because 1 Corinthians 14:26 says “Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation.”
